Fruity Kitchen
Meet Paula and Jon Briscoe, the passionate duo behind The Fruity Kitchen, creators of exceptional handmade preserves and the renowned Briscoe's Artisan Jellies. After meeting at University in 1993, Paula and Jon formed an incredible relationship both personally and in business, setting about their careers with a dream of opening their own business in the food and drink sector.
Their journey began with three award-winning pub restaurants, including their flagship site The Jolly Farmers, the multi award-winning pub, eatery and Farm shop in Reigate, renowned as the UK's first pub, eatery and fully integrated farm shop concept. Innovation has always been at their heart - in 2006, they launched a pioneering "cash-4-crops scheme" to encourage customers to bring in their excess home-grown fruit and vegetables in exchange for vouchers, reducing waste whilst encouraging enterprise.
It was an abundance of apples collected through the scheme that kick-started Paula experimenting, and before long the very first of the Briscoe's Jellies appeared on their menus. In 2015, they sold their pubs to focus entirely on developing their handmade preserves, and their range continues to expand with seasonal specials and limited editions.
Produced in small batches using traditional methods, The Fruity Kitchen creates a wonderful range of quality jams, chutneys, marmalade and jellies. Their time-honoured traditional techniques create a soft and clear set product with a unique ability to preserve flavour , whilst their mission is to supply produce that adds an extra special touch to occasions and family meals.
Part of our carefully selected network of Yorkshire artisans, The Fruity Kitchen represents the innovation, sustainability, and exceptional quality that defines our commitment to meaningful, locally-sourced gifting.
