Glover & Smith
Meet Ed and Judy Glover, the creative duo behind Glover & Smith, designing and making award-winning lead-free pewterware since 1994. This family-run company was founded by two talented designers who brought their artistic expertise together to create beautiful, contemporary tableware and gifts that celebrate both heritage and innovation.
Ed achieved his degree in art and design from Farnham Art College and Judy studied textile design at Manchester University, combining their complementary skills to establish one of Britain's most respected pewter workshops. Based in their Wiltshire studios, each piece is lovingly hand-crafted from lead-free pewter which does not go grey like old pewter.
Their designs are inspired by nature, the British countryside and English heritage, creating wonderfully detailed, textured, contemporary, eco-friendly and lead-free English pewter gifts including spoons, tableware, jewellery, cabinet handles, bookmarks, and trinket boxes. Glover & Smith are members of The Association of British Pewter Craftsmen and Ed Glover is also a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Pewterers.
What sets them apart is their commitment to sustainability - pewter is an environmentally friendly metal comprising 95% Tin, 0.5% Copper and 4.5% Antimony, certified lead and nickel-free, making it completely non-toxic and food-friendly. Their work is collected and treasured by many both in Britain and abroad, representing the perfect blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design.
Part of our carefully selected network of British artisans, Glover & Smith represents the heritage craftsmanship and sustainable innovation that defines our commitment to meaningful, eco-friendly gifting.
